 August 22, 2017

I hope you've enjoyed this beautiful summer with your little one!

If you haven't yet registered your child (with a birthdate that falls within 10/1/11 and 9/30/12) for kindergarten next year, please do so right away so we can place him/her on a class list for next year.  See below for more information.

If your child is registered for next year, you should have received our summer mailing by now, including information about your child's class and other details and forms for the year ahead.  We're looking forward to filling this building with happy little faces again, and seeing them making friends, and excited about school and about learning!  Kindergarten starts on Tuesday, September 5th, with a Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, August 31st from 1-3.  Preschool Open House will be held on Thursday, September 7th at 9:30 (AM) and 1:00 (PM), and the first day of preschool will be Monday, September 11th, for those students scheduled to attend on Mondays.  We can't wait to see you!

I'd like to take this opportunity to clear up any confusion about the availability of full-day public kindergarten at Glen Lake.  It is true that additional funding has been approved by the State for districts who offer full-day kindergarten.  However, at this time Goffstown is not able to offer a full-day program due to space and staffing limitations.  This is a topic that we are watching very closely along with the SAU and the School Board.  We do not anticipate being able to offer full-day kindergarten in the near future.

Enjoy these last few summer days!  We'll see you soon!

All the best,

Kindergarten is a half-day program. The morning session runs from 8:45 to 11:15 am, and the afternoon session runs from 12:30 to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday following the Goffstown School District calendar. Parents will be able to indicate their preference for AM or PM session on the enrollment paperwork. If parent requests exceed session capacity, a lottery will be used to determine those students who will be placed in the session.

AM transportation to the school is available to kindergarten students via their neighborhood bus. There is no mid-day transportation provided by the school district. However for those parents needing extended care, several community day-care providers do offer transportation mid-day to and from their programs. PM students may take advantage of their neighborhood bus for transportation home at the end of the day.

The Glen Lake School provides a learning environment that enables children to acquire cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skills that are the foundation for all future learning. Such an environment is based upon the following beliefs:

Volunteer Fingerprinting

FingerprintSAU #19 continues to host fingerprinting opportunities throughout the school year on the first Wednesday of each month from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteers do not need to make an appointment during these open times, just check in with the receptionist at the SAU office. You will need a photo identification and a personal check or money order for $20.75 made payable to State of NH - Criminal Records (which per-Goffstown policy can be reimbursed once you document five hours of volunteer time). Cash payment will no longer be accepted.

Bus Routes

BusThe Goffstown Truck Center has provided Bus Routes for the 2016-2017 School Year. Please review these routes carefully, as they may have changed from previous years. If you have questions about these routes, please contact the Goffstown Truck Center at 497-3111.
