School Administrative Unit #19
SAU #19 is taking this opportunity to notify community members who attended Goffstown or New Boston Schools, and have a date of birth before June 1, 1996, that their special education records will be destroyed by August 4, 2023.
Students Affected: This destruction policy applies to student’s who received special education services and were born in or prior to 1996 only.
To request records, contact the Special Education Department at Goffstown High School at 603 497-4841 or the district Special Education office at 603 497-4818.
Records will be provided only to former students 18 years of age or older or legal guardian(s) of said student. Record release requires photo identification.
SAU 19, which serves the towns of Goffstown and New Boston, seeks to locate and identify all children who may have an educational disability within the geographic boundaries of Goffstown and New Boston, New Hampshire. Any person may refer for evaluation of a child under the age of 22 for reasons including, but not limited to, the following:
- Failing to pass a hearing or vision screening
- Unsatisfactory performance on group achievement or accountability measures
- Receiving multiple academic or behavioral warnings
- Repeatedly failing one or more subjects
The Child Find requirements of Goffstown and New Boston School Districts also apply to highly mobile children, homeless children, and children who are suspected of having an educational disability even though they are advancing from grade to grade. Child Find also includes those children in grades K-12 who attend approved, non-public private schools within the geographic boundaries of Goffstown and New Boston regardless of where they reside.
Referrals may be initiated in a variety of ways. The SAU 19 Special Education Director may be contacted at (603)497-4818. For children who attend Goffstown or New Boston public schools, building principals or assistant principals, special education facilitators, or classroom teachers may also be contacted by anyone wishing to initiate a referral for special services. Parents of students in grades K-12 who attend private schools outside the geographical boundaries of Goffstown or New Boston should contact the district in which the private school is located in order to make a referral for evaluation.
