The final Goffstown – New Boston AREA Agreement and the 2024 Final Draft AREA Agreement with Appendices is attached below (PDF format)

The American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (“ARP ESSER”) Fund, authorized under the American Rescue Plan (“ARP”) Act of 2021, provides nearly $122 billion to States to support the Nation’s schools in safely reopening and sustaining safe operations of schools while meeting the academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of students resulting from the coronavirus disease 2019 (“COVID-19”) pandemic. It is particularly important that ARP ESSER funding will enable States and local educational agencies (“LEAs”)(School Districts), and more directly schools, to support students who have been most severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are likely to have suffered the most because of longstanding inequities in our communities and schools that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

ARP ESSER Plans

Below is the Goffstown School District’s ARP ESSER Plan submitted to the NH Department of Education. It contains the following information:

  1. The LEA’s (District’s) Current Status and Needs
  2. How the District plans on Safely Reopening Schools and Sustaining their Safe Operations
  3. The District’s plan in Supporting and Stabilizing the Educator Workforce
  4. Monitoring and Measuring the District’s Progress
  5. The District’s plan for providing continuity of services in addressing student academic needs.

Feedback on the ARP ESSER Use of funds can be provided here:

The SAU Board is comprised of the Goffstown and New Boston School Boards. The SAU Board’s purpose is to oversee affairs that involve or impact both districts as well as the SAU Central Office. The SAU Board typically meets in October, December and April. View SAU Board meeting minutes, public notices, policies and AREA Agreement here.

In compliance with AHERA, the Goffstown School District is required to notify parents, teachers, and all other building occupants that an Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) is available to them in either the office of each school or in the SAU office. The AMP details the location of asbestos in each building and provides a record of inspections, re-inspections, periodic surveillance, and removal of asbestos.

Periodic surveillance of Asbestos containing Building Material (ACBM) is conducted by district personnel every six months and a thorough re-inspection of ACBM is conducted once every three years by the District’s environmental consultant. The most recent inspection was conducted in November and December 2018.

If you require more detailed information, please call the SAU office 497-4818, and staff will direct your inquiry to the District's designated person for asbestos information.
